First visits - Consultation only - $175

The initial visit and an hour and a half. This leaves plenty of time to fully and completely discuss your entire health history as well as a comprehensive discussion of your current health issues and concerns. Then, I will discuss how alternative medicine usually approaches your concerns. I normally try to educate my patients as much as possible on the root causes of their issues so that they can more fully understand what has caused them to get to this point. The next step is to come up with a plan to move forward with. This can include: supplements, dietary changes, lifestyle advice, herbal formulas, hydrotherapy, and alternative testing of hormones levels, adrenal health, stool analysis, neurotransmitter testing, or heavy metal analysis. I encourage you to ask questions and I try to make sure you understand why everything that we decide to do is important. I like to work with my patients to come up with a treatment plan that you feel comfortable with and good about. For more information on naturopathic medicine, go here.

First visits - Consultation plus Acupuncture - $175

This is also an hour and a half visit. After discussing your health concerns and coming up with a treatment plan, you will receive an acupuncture treatment. For more information on acupuncture, go here.

First visits - Short Consultation plus Acupuncture - $85-120

If you are coming in for an uncomplicated muscular or skeletal issue or pain, we can most likely have a shortened intake and a shorter overall treatment. The price will depend on how much discussion is needed.

Follow up Consultations - $75

Naturopathic follow up visits can involve reviewing test results, reviewing and adjusting current supplement programs, discussing new or changed health concerns, discussing ways to further improve diet and lifestyle factors, Qi Gong exercises to do at home, or coming up with new strategies to address stubborn issues. Price will depend on time of visit; 30-45 minutes.

Acupuncture visits - $65

Acupuncture visits are 45 minutes. The leaves time for a short discussion of how things are progressing, new or changing concerns, and adjusting supplement or herbal programs before the acupuncture treatment. After all of the needles are in, you will be able to relax for at least 20 minutes on a very comfortable massage table with gentle music playing.

Alternative Testing - prices vary

Often we will want to do some salivary, urine, or stool testing to further understand the biochemical reasons behind your health concerns. This type of testing is not typically covered by insurance companies, but more and more of my patients are finding that they can get reimbursed for them. Payment for alternative tests is due at the time of the visit. As with insurance coverage below, you will receive an invoice that you can submit to the insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Insurance Questions

I am often asked about insurance coverage. On the whole, health insurance in North Carolina tends not to cover alternative medicine of any sort. However, there are some options:

- Some people find that their policy will cover acupuncture. I encourage you to check with your provider. If this is the case, you will still need to pay for the visit at that time, but you will be provided with an invoice that you can easily submit to reimburse yourself.

- FLEX or HSA plans that some people have through their employment WILL cover alternative services. You can decide what to spend that money on as long as it relates to healthcare. Many of my patients have been reimbursed in this way. Some people even have FLEX debit cards that they can use to pay for the visit.
