Chinese Medicine EducationChinese Medical school in this country are typically three, or maybe four, years long. A large percentage of the time is usually spent in clinical settings, either observing or practicing under a supervisor. Most schools have a multi-faceted program that instructs students in acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and usually includes either Tai Ji or Qi Gong, both are essentially movement as medicine. Students learn western anatomy and pathology, Chinese medical theory, acupuncture point location and function, treatment strategies and philosophies, Chinese herbal medicine, Chinese dietetics, and, most importantly, how to treat human disease with compassion and effectiveness. I highly recommend the program that I attended, as well as the school that I currently serve as the Clinic Director of. Links to both schools are below.
